Making a supershake is an easy, convenient way to get your nutrition on-the-go.
Use high quality, nutritious ingredients and tailor the shake to your unique calorie needs and lifestyle. If you are a busy person and don’t have time to sit down for breakfast, shakes offer a fast solution and have worked well for many of my clients. You can also use them for snacks during the day. Another good time for a shake is before or after a workout.
Start with a plain, high quality whey protein powder as a base and then choose your ingredients.
I almost always go for raw cacao powder, banana, coconut and/or almond milk and sometimes peanut butter but there are so many options that you should never get bored!
How to build your supershake:
Always start with:
1 serving of good quality, plain protein powder
Trim milk, unsweetened almond milk or water
Next add one of these superfood options:
Then add some carbs, depending on your energy requirements for the day:
Oats or oatbran
Other options include:
1 tsp-1 tbsp of a nut butter
Coconut milk or cream
